Your artist will cover your tattoo with a sanitary bandage or protective wrap—leave it on for at least 2-4 hours (or as instructed). Before touching your tattoo, wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap. When removing the bandage, gently cleanse the area with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap. Do not scrub or rub. Pat dry with a clean paper towel and allow it to air dry for a few minutes.
Moisturize lightly: Apply a thin layer of a recommended tattoo aftercare lotion (such as Aquaphor, Hustle Butter, or a fragrance-free lotion). Avoid petroleum-based products like Vaseline. Wash your tattoo gently twice a day to prevent infection. Use lukewarm water and mild soap, then pat dry. Avoid soaking: No swimming, hot tubs, or baths—showers are fine, but keep the tattoo out of direct water pressure .Wear loose clothing over the tattoo to avoid friction and irritation. No scratching or picking: Flaking and peeling are normal, but let it heal naturally.
Avoid direct sun exposure while healing. After it’s healed, always apply SPF 30+ sunscreen to prevent fading. Keep it hydrated: Moisturize regularly to keep your tattoo looking fresh. Stay healthy: Hydration, a balanced diet, and good skincare help your tattoo heal and stay vibrant over time.
